Why is Smarttnet acquiring Dowco’s Internet Division?
Dowco has decided to pursue other business opportunities.
Smarttnet’s company philosophy, quality customer care and expandable network infrastructure
make it an excellent candidate to continue taking care of your Internet needs.
What benefits will the acquisition bring me as an existing
customer?
Smarttnet’s multi-point connectivity will result in faster and even more reliable connections for your home or office; Its world-class Data
Center will provide mission critical services for many business applications such
as VoIP and VPN. Furthermore, Dowco’s existing customers now have the option to
upgrade to the new ADSL +2 services on Smarttnet’s infrastructure. The new service
will be twice as fast as Dowco’s existing services. Details about how to upgrade
will become available in August, 2007.
Whom should I contact for sales or technical
support?
Dowco will continue to provide technical support until August
15th,
2007. After August 15th, please contact Smarttnet’s support team at the methods
below for any technical inquires.

How will billing be handled?
You will continue to be billed by Dowco until the end of
May, 2008. Starting in June, 2008, Smarttnet will take over the billing.
Whom should I contact for accounting?
You will continue to contact Dowco for accounting and billing
cases until the end of May, 2008.
What about my private information?
Both Dowco and Smarttnet take great steps to prevent the
loss, theft or unauthorized access of our customer’s private information. Both companies
have instituted both individual and joint security guards and procedures to prevent
unauthorized access to your private information. Your private data will not be shared,
transferred, sold or viewed by unauthorized personnel, ever.
Is my monthly service fee going to change?
Smarttnet will honor the pricing and plans you have with dowco.
There will be no change to your monthly fee.
What will happen with my dowco.com email address?
Email and all other services will continue to operate as they
are. All subscribers using an email address with the dowco.com domain will
be able to keep their email address through August 31, 2011.
How will the transfer of accounts be handled?
Depending on the type of account you have with Dowco, the
following procedures apply:

1. DialUp |
No noticeable change. You should not experience downtime. |

2. ADSL |
Each customer will be contacted individually by
a Smarttnet Technical Support Staff and provided with new network information, changeover
date as well as setup assistance and instructions. Although unlikely, customer may
experience up to twenty-four hours of downtime. |

3. Co-Location: |
Each customer contacted individually by a Smarttnet Technical Support Staff. Appointment
will be setup for the transfer of equipment to Smarttnet’s Data-Centre |

4. Web Hosting: |
No noticeable change by customer unless DNS hosted
by a provider other than Dowco in which case client will be contacted individually
and provided with the new IP address information. |
