Dialup Setup
  1. Click on the Start menu, select Control Panel
  2. Note: If you are running Windows XP in classic mode, you will need to select the Start menu, select Settings, then choose Control Panel
  3. Click the Switch to Classic View icon
  4. Double-click the Network Connections icon
  5. Click the Create a new connection icon
  6. Click the Next button.
  7. Select Connect to the Internet. Click the Next button.
  8. Select Set up my connection manually. Click the Next button
  9. Select Connect using a dial-up modem and Click the Next button.
  10. In the ISP Name field, enter Smarttnet to identify your connection. Click the Next button.
  11. In the Phone number: field, type:
    6044739747 for Greater Vancouver
    6048507825 for Abbotsford
    2503800560 for Victoria
  12. Refer to the Welcome Letter that was faxed to you and proceed with the following on the Internet Account Information screen:
    In the User name: field, type your Username.
    In the Password: field, type your Password.
    In the Confirm password: field, type your Password.
    Uncheck the box next to Use this account name and password when anyone connects to the Internet from this computer.
    Uncheck the box next to Make this the default Internet connection
    Uncheck the box next to Turn on Internet Connection Firewall for this connection.
    Click the Next button
  13. Check the box next to Add a shortcut to this connection to my desktop if you wish to have a shortcut to the connection on your desktop. Click the Finish button.
  14. Right click on Smarttnet and Click on properties
    Left click on the Networking tab
    Highlight Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) and click on the properties button.
    Select use the following DNS Server Addresses
    In the Preferred DNS Server field type 69.31.170.249
    In the Alternate DNS Server field type 69.67.177.249
    Click the OK button
    Click the OK button again.
